ORGANISERS of the city’s popular Spireworks fireworks display have been given almost £2,800 to improve safety at the event.
Salisbury Rotary Club will be spending more than £6,600 on barriers to improve crowd control at the cattle market site, along with portable lighting.
The club says this is essential health and safety equipment that it would otherwise have to hire every year.
Profits from the display are used to help local charities.
The grant was made by Wiltshire Council’s Salisbury area board on Thursday.
