The Breakaway Club held its August meeting away from the Memorial Hall again.
This time they visited Gilbert's Nursery to admire the dahlia field.
There were hundreds of colourful blooms of every size and hue, enabling many members to start planning their gardens for next year. The flower arrangers in the group, in particular, were fascinated by the varieties available.
The Club then moved on to Dandy's Ford Tearooms for a cream tea.
It was very relaxing to sit and chat in such a rural location, overlooking the lake.
The day was warm and sunny and the food delicious as members chatted and caught up with each others’ activities over the summer.
They will be back at the Memorial Centre for their next meeting on September 17, when the speaker will be Peter Jones, talking about Wandering Through Central Asia which promises to be a very interesting talk.
New members are always welcome.
Tea and cakes are an added inducement
