SHOPPERS in Ringwood and Ferndown have been giving generously to help families and individuals in food crisis.
A whopping 1,589 kilos of food was donated to Ringwood Foodbank at Tesco in Ferndown, between November 27 and 29 – 136 boxes were needed to pack all the items.
The generous donations kept coming in, with the food bank enjoying another successful collection day at Sainsbury’s in Ringwood last Saturday, where 283 kilos of items were donated.
Staff at the food bank warehouses are now hard at work processing all the donations ready to go out to food bank users.
A spokesman for Ringwood Foodbank said: “Like all Trussell Trust food banks, Ringwood is completely dependent on the generosity and goodwill of local people to support its work giving emergency food aid to people in crisis.”
The food bank thanked everyone in Ferndown and Ringwood who donated food.
The number of people using Ringwood Foodbank is increasing – over the past seven months it has fed 600 people.
