FORDINGBRIDGE Fire Station is to host its very first live music event to raise vital funds for Southampton General Hospital neurological department.

A Party in the Park takes place on May 2 at Riverside Park and is in recognition of the fantastic care provided to Fordingbridge Fire Station crew manager Steve White after a serious accident last May.

Fordingbridge watch manager Pete White said: “We haven’t done anything like this before. We don’t really know what response we are going to get but we hope it is a success and we can make as much as we can.”

The event will also be raising funds for the Firefighters Charity.

There will be music from local acts including Snatch Rescue, Monkey Closet, Fit For Purpose and the Halapinos.

“It is just going to be a unique event in Fordingbridge, a lovely setting down by the river,” added Pete.

“It is just getting people in Fordingbridge together for something that is slightly different. At the end of the day there is going to be six hours of entertainment for £10.”

Tickets will be limited to 350 and must be purchased in advance.

They have already started selling.

Tickets are available by sending a cheque and stamped addressed envelope to Party in the Park, Fordingbridge Fire Station, Station Road, Fordingbridge, Hampshire SP6 1RF, or emailing pete.white @hantsfire.gov.uk to arrange a date for collection.

As well as live music there will be a fully licensed bar, burgers and camping pitches available.
