A BOOK chronicling the history of the College of Sarum St Michael from its founding in 1841 to when it closed in 1978 has gone on sale.
Inspired to Teach is about the teacher training school also known as Salisbury Training College, and has been written by Jenny Head and Anne Johns.
The pair both trained at the college in the late '60s have spent the last two-and-a-half years writing the book.
It is full of first-hand accounts from students as well as drawings, cartoons and paintings with the foreword written by the Bishop of Salisbury, The Right Revd Nicholas Holtam.
The College closed in 1978 due to the reorganisation of teacher training and the site now houses Salisbury Museum. The pair were back at the museum last Thursday for the special unveiling of the book.
Books cost £25 and can be ordered by visiting inspiredtoteach.co.uk.
