A VAN containing more than 600 copies of the Journal was hijacked this morning from Wilton.

The victim, a 37-year-old man from Southampton, was getting in to the van when he was approached by a man who pushed him to the floor and then stole his white Ford Transit van.

Police confirmed they were called at 1.23am this morning to North Street, Wilton, following a report that a van had been stolen from outside the One Stop shop.

The suspect was wearing a grey hoodie and spoke with an English accent.

The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
