A DEMENTIA awareness talk is taking place on Tuesday, June 23 from 1pm to 3:30pm at Carer Support Wiltshire’s centre at 15 New Street, Salisbury.
'The Challenge of Dementia' will be led by dementia counsellor and consultant Elizabeth Bartlett and will cover the different types of dementia, how it progresses and what it is like to live with the disease.
Steve Rose, Training Coordinator for Carer Support Wiltshire, said: “Elizabeth has over 26 years of experience in the field and is able to explain, in simple terms, how dementia affects those living with the disease.
"A carer who attended last year’s talk told us that she had learnt more in a few hours with Elizabeth than she had from all the medical professionals who had been treating the person she cares for.”
Places are free for unpaid carers who are looking after a relative or a friend with dementia. To book your place, please contact Steve Rose on 0800 181 4118.
