A CARNIVAL-themed hair show demonstrated the talents of hairdressing students from Wiltshire College while raising money for the Stars Appeal Breast Cancer Unit.

The event, organised entirely by eight Level 3 students and three apprentices, gave them the opportunity to exhibit their work to members of the public as well as their friends and family.

Taking place in the Performing Arts Theatre at the Salisbury campus last week, the students presented a variety of creative hair styles following the carnival theme.

Hayley Prescod from the department said: “The students worked very hard to arrange this and raise as much money as they can.

“They have already held a cake sale, a baked bean bath and carried out bag packing at our local Tesco.”

Students raised £750.

The Stars Appeal has raised £500,000 towards its £750,000 target for a dedicated breast care unit at Salisbury District Hospital.
