A CAMERAMAN from Ringwood will be trekking 500 miles across France and Spain to raise money for Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy Action (SUDEP).

James Light, 33, will make the journey on foot from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Portin in France to Finisterre on the western Spanish coast in memory of his brother, David, who suffered from epilepsy and died in 2001.

James has been training for the trek with regular 20 mile walks and aims to raise £450 for SUDEP.

“I’m very excited to begin the trek for a charity so close to my heart," he said.

"It’ll be a challenge but I’ve been inspired to fulfil my dreams of exploring and to raise as much money as possible for such a great cause which helps so many.”

There are at least three epilepsy-related deaths a day in the UK. The majority are Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.

SUDEP care for the bereaved and work with families and professionals to make change and raise awareness of Epilepsy. They use research and awareness to strive to get the answers that will save lives.
