POULNER Junior School is holding an open day for prospective parents and carers on Wednesday, November 11.

Situated in beautiful, extensive grounds on the edge of the New Forest, Head teacher James Stanford said: “We are a well-resourced, three-form entry school for children aged between seven and 11 years, where the well-being and happiness of each child is paramount.

“High expectations combined with a strong emphasis on meeting the pastoral and educational needs of all children result in a happy school.

“An exciting curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including instrument tuition, fencing and French clubs and swimming in our own heated pool lead to a rounded education for our children.

“The vast majority of the children transfer to Ringwood Academy after their four years with us.

“We are a true community school, where parents are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of their children’s learning.

“Our thriving Parents and Teachers Association organises events throughout the year, from a spectacular firework display to the ever-popular May Fair and dog show, to raise additional funds, last year paying for our wonderful outdoor classroom. Our facilities are also well-used by local clubs, putting the school at the heart of the community.”

Open day visits start at 10am and 1.45pm, with a presentation by the Mr Stanford, followed by tours led by the children when they will share what life is like to be a pupil at Poulner Junior School.

Mr Stanford said: “If you would like to see what we have to offer your child, please come along to the open day.”
