MODERN day journalism requires an up-to-the moment approach to gathering and delivering news. Now Salisbury Newspapers is inviting readers from across the region to join our team as Journal Citizen Journalists (JCJs).
It’s an offer open to those who already have a thirst for knowledge and sharing stories.
Bill Browne, Editor, said: “Today the Journal is a daily news operation. We have a professional team ready to upload local news on our website as it happens.
“However our eyes and ears cannot be everywhere and our aim is to develop citizen journalists who can help us continue to provide the number one news and information website for the region we serve.
“There are many people we are already in contact with who keep us updated on the things that are going on in their neighbourhood.
“With their help the Salisbury Journal website has achieved over 7,300,000 page impressions since the start of the year.
“Although our citizen journalists will be making voluntary contributions, they will be rewarded in various ways – including formal training and direct feedback on the success of their stories. There is also an iPad prize on offer for the most successful of our citizen journalist contributors.”
This is a brand new initiative and at the moment Salisbury Newspapers is seeking people who are interested in finding out more.
Said Bill: “We want to hear from people with journalistic tendencies. So if you an interest in sharing news, pictures and information that might interest others let me know.”
