SCORES of pupils braved rain at the Salisbury Schools’ Mini Marathon.
Youngsters aged from seven to 11 across schools in south Wiltshire took part in Saturday’s race behind the four Laverstock schools.
There were three categories in the event, organised by Laverstock St Andrews, including the under 9s, under 11s and the parents’ race.
First home in the under 9s boys race was Ben Shering (St Andrews), followed by Alexander Vincent (Winterbourne Earls) and Kieran McCullan (Harnham).
Maddie Vernon (Whiteparish) won the girls race, followed by Sophie Makin (Woodford Valley) and Martha Davies (St Marks). In the under 11s, the boys winner was Guy Mitchell (Winterbourne Earls), with Lukas Bailey (St Marks) in second and Evan Osborne (Winterslow) third.
The girls section was scooped by Jade Griscti (Downton), second was Neve East (Whiteparish) and Olive Ullyatt (Downton) was placed third.
St Andrews teacher, Cameron Edwards, was triumphant in the parents men’s race. Polly Jacobs (Harnham) was the women’s race winner.
