RESIDENTS are being urged to be vigilant after an attempt was made to break into Honda Accord car in Wylye.
Two people were seen attempting to break into the vehicle, which was parked off Dinton Road.
They were disturbed by a resident and then ran from the scene in the direction of the village.
The pair were described as wearing dark coloured clothing and were carrying what is believed to have been a cutting tool.
The incident happened at about 6.30pm on December 21.
PC Rich Chula said: “I would like to hear from any members of the public who saw two people acting suspiciously within the village, either on foot, or in a vehicle.
“We have seen a number of thefts from vehicles in rural areas in recent weeks and we would like to urge members of the public to be vigilant – please ensure you remove all valuables from your vehicles or lock them away out of sight, and try and park in a well-lit area if possible.
“Anyone with information on this incident should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
