David Halls, Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral, is delighted to announce the launch of a Salisbury Cathedral Junior Choir which is open to any child in school years 4-8.
There will be no auditions, and no charge and Salisbury Cathedral will continue to train children to sing to a high standard.
The Cathedral aims to establish a choir with about fifty children so that their sound will fill the large space of the Cathedral.
David Halls said: "This new initiative will provide a further opportunity for children in Salisbury and beyond to be involved with music-making in the Cathedral."
The Junior Choir will be led by Ian Wicks, the Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral School, and will be given opportunities to participate regularly in Cathedral Services.
The first rehearsal is on Saturday September 15. For more information please call the Department of Liturgy and Music on (01722) 555148.
