A TEENAGER convicted of importing and dealing cannabis has now been banned from the road for drink driving after security staff reported him to the police.
Toby Charles Fairall, 19, pleaded guilty to the offence at Salisbury Magistrates Court on May 5 and was disqualified from driving for 17 months.
Fairall,of Avon Drive, Alderbury, was also fined £258 with £85 costs.
Police were alerted by security staff in Milford Street at 3.15 am on Saturday, March 18, that the driver of a vehicle nearby may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was breathalysed and arrested.
He was taken to into custody and subsequently charged.
PC Rachel Gunn said after sentencing: "Our thanks go to the security team who were vigilant and quickly reported their suspicions allowing us to prevent this man from continuing to drive.
"We all know the dangers of drink driving, it isn't worth the risk of disqualification/fines as in this case or potentially much more serious consequences when people are injured as a result."
Fairall was previously in court in January for importing cannabis on the dark web.
