FUNDRAISING records were smashed as this year’s Wessex Country Fair amassed a whopping £40,000 for charity.
More than 4,000 people attended the event organised by Salisbury Hospice Charity.
Paula Flower, the charity’s head of fundraising, said: “We are delighted that so many of the local community turned out to support the event which has raised an incredible amount for Salisbury Hospice.”
Sarah Himelfield-Shaw, event fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity, said: “There was something for
everyone; dressage camels, duck racing, birds of prey, live music, a wide range of trading stalls and displays of vintage cars and steam vehicles.”
New this year were Shetland pony rides, a climbing wall, line dancing and cheerleading.
