VINTAGE farm machinery was destroyed in a barn fire in Amesbury.
The fire, in an isolated barn in the wooded area adjacent to the grounds of Amesbury Abbey, destroyed the barn and several pieces of vintage farm machinery.
The fire appears to have been caused as a result of somebody burning material inside the structure which lead to the building catching fire and being destroyed overnight on August 8 to 9.
Police have today released an appeal for witnesses and information.
Local crime investigator Mark Blunt said: “The cost of the damage is unclear at this stage, but it was a large fire which destroyed not just the barn building, but machinery nearby.
"We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in this area around the time of the fire. Please call 101 with any information you have.”
