FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a large fire in Ringwood last night (Wednesday).
The fire broke out at about 5pm in an outbuilding in Spittlefields.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) said: "An 80-year-old man was found to be suffering from smoke inhalation and South Central Ambulance Service attended.
"A dog was rescued and given oxygen by HFRS."
Fire crews from Ringwood and Burley attended along with a crew from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
The fire was dealt with by about 6.10pm.
