A MOSAIC telling some of the stories of Greencroft Street has been unveiled at St Thomas’s Church.
It is the latest piece of community artwork by the Milford Street Bridge Project.
The artwork has been designed by artist Joanna Dewfall and features stories and memories from people who grew up on Greencroft Street.
One of those who contributed was Ron Holloway, who has lived in the street for 80 years. He tells the story of guiding two tanks from Bovington to Wilton via Greencroft Street where they stopped for a cup of tea with his mum.
Also featured is Ken Edwards, who grew up on the street, and the mosaic shows him coming out of The Barley Mow pub’s “jug and bottle”.
Mayor of Salisbury John Lindley said: “Projects like this are a great way of bringing the community together and creating a legacy.”
