A FORMER Salisbury musician has reached the final of a national competition and could be in with a chance of winning a record deal.
Chris Ward, who grew up in Salisbury but now lives in Reading, is in the final of the Open Mic UK competition which takes place tomorrow (Saturday) at the NEC in Birmingham.
“I am really excited,” says the 26-year-old, who performs under the stage name Anon. "The competition started with 10,000 and I am in the final 20.
"It would mean the world to me [to win the competition]."
The judges will pick the final three acts and the winner with the highest national vote will be crowned the winner.
