AN elderly woman was rescued this morning after she had fallen in the snow on the Laverstock Downs.
Wiltshire Police were called to reports that the woman, in her 70s, had gone missing whilst walking her dog.
A spokesman for the force said: "When she hadn’t returned home after half an hour, her husband called us."
Local people, along with Salisbury officers, formed a search party to combe the area.
"Due to the age of the woman and the current weather conditions we classed this as a high-risk missing person and were beginning to plan a search for her when it was reported to us that she had been taken to hospital," the spokesman added.
The woman was taken to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, she only suffered minor injuries.
