A DRIVER accused of causing the death of an Amesbury woman in a two-car crash is due to appear in court.
Gena Close, 56, of Beverly Hills Park, died after a collision involving a Mazda and an Audi A4 on the A32 Wickham Road in Meon Valley on August 23.
Ms Close was taken to Southampton General Hospital where she died. She was a rear passenger in the Mazda, police said.
Steven Agar, 36, of Harris Road, Gosport, will appear at Portsmouth magistrates' court on Tuesday, April 3, accused of causing death by careless driving whilst over the specified limit of a controlled drug.
At the time of her death, Ms Close's family said: “The family are devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of Gena.
"A devoted mother and wonderful sister.
"All who knew her were better for the experience.
"She will forever be in our hearts."
