THERE were plenty of blooming marvellous displays as green-fingered gardeners showed off their hard work at the Damerham and District Horticultural Society’s spring show.

Around 53 entries took part in the event at the Damerham Village Hall on Saturday, with growers vying to win a range of classes including the best daffodil and amateur gardener.

Others also showcased their best cookery and handicraft amongst the floral displays.

Society secretary Jan Burnell said: “It was a really lovely event and the committee were brilliant in setting it up and putting it away.

“The whole show is really community effort, with more entries than last year.

After being judged on their entries, youngsters were given the chance to plant potatoes which will then be brought back for a competition at the society’s summer show.
