A WOMAN was assaulted after crashing her car into two parked vehicles on Saturday.

The woman was attacked after colliding with two stationary vehicles in Norfolk Road.

She received cuts to her face and arm and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital, but police say her injuries were not "life threatening or life changing".

A 48-year-old local man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and taken to custody.

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Davies-Bateman said: "A number of people witnessed the incident and went to help at the scene - I'd like to thank those who stepped forward to help just before our officers arrived.

"We are still appealing for witnesses, especially anyone who may have seen a red VW Golf driving erratically in the area beforehand.

"If you heard or saw anything suspicious around this time please come forward."
