RESIDENTS at John Baker House supported living - where one of the Amesbury nerve agent victims is believed to have lived - have been told to prepare for evacuation.

About ten to fifteen police officers, including six counter terror officers, entered the building in Rollestone Street, Salisbury, earlier this morning (Thursday).

The road is now fully closed to pedestrians and vehicles, with green barriers being erected outside John Baker House.

One resident, Justin, said: "We're all in the sitting room waiting to be told where we're going. Everyone's got a bag ready, don't know where we're going."

Justin, who has lived in John Baker House for about a year, said both victims (Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess) are believed to be unconscious at Salisbury District Hospital, where they remain in a critical condition.

He said police had told the residents Dawn was not responding to medication.

Justin said it was "a shock" and "a bit of a concern".

"Police asked us to leave, we don't know where we're heading to yet," he added.

"I’m just going to wait to see where I’m going. It's a bit of an upheaval.

"Dawn is a good friend, she hasn’t come round yet, I don’t think they’re letting anyone in the hospital.

"She’s a motherly figure a really lovely woman."- she’d been there for a couple years

Salisbury charity Alabare confirmed it had been asked by Wiltshire Council to assist in rehoming the residents.

A Wiltshire Council spokesman refused to comment.
