AN elderly man was the victim of a distraction burglary in Wilton.
Police say a man called at a house in Hillside Road at about 11.45am on July 9 and told the homeowner - a man aged in his 90s - that he was a gardener.
He entered the home and stole cash from a bedroom.
No vehicles were seen in the area at the time, but the man is described as approximately 50 years old, 5 ft 10 inches tall and of stocky build.
He was clean shaven and was wearing a baseball cap, with a green t-shirt and trousers.
PC Kieran Leibrick said: “This incident has caused the elderly victim a lot of upset.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this man in the area around the time of this incident, or anyone who thinks this man may have called at their address on the same day.”
Anyone with information about the distraction burglary is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54180063048.
