A HOUSE was "well alight" in Larkhill this morning (Wednesday, June 11).

The fire in Fargo Road was reported just before 10am.

A neighbouring property was also affected by smoke.

A spokesman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said fire crews from Salisbury and Ludgershall attended the scene and found the first floor of the property "well alight".

Firefighters using breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

The first floor and roof space of the property was damaged and there was smoke logging to the neighbouring house.

The fire service also said there were no reports of any casualties from either address.

The incident was dealt with just after midday.
