IT'S HIGH time the Government took control and action, within the overall budgetary context of the longstanding pledge to de-bottleneck the A303 along it's entire length from the M3 to the Honiton bypass.
Stonehenge, however significant a monument, represents just one part of a much larger overall project.
The decision on what can be afforded must be taken as a part of the total deliverable, equally in the best interest of the population of the south western and western counties, to who the Government originally addressed this pledge and who's livelihoods depend on the efficient operation of this strategic highway.
If that means selecting the lowest cost solution and that happens not to be a tunnel, then so be it.
