DESPITE the rain 860 runners and walkers competed in the Salisbury 54321 on Sunday.
Participants took part in the 21k, 33k, 42k and 50k Ultra marathon.
There were a number of international athletes at the event including runners from the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Germany.
The most senior runner was 84 and the youngest walker was four-years-old in the 5k.
The six scenic route options took runners and walkers mostly off road on paths and country estates around the city, some of which are not usually open to the public.
The main 42k marathon was designed to cross five rivers, four Hills, three large country estates, two castles and a cathedral.
The event started and finished at Salisbury Fire Station. It was organised by the Fire Sport UK in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.
