THE Clere School is celebrating another year of “excellent” GCSE results which teachers say demonstrate consistency and high expectations.

More than 80 per cent of pupils achieved at least a 4+ grade in mathematics and 73 per cent at least a 4+ grade in English.

The combined figure is 71 per cent and represents a significant improvement on last year’s results.

The percentage of students achieving the top grade (9) in English, maths and other subjects was also highlighted which the school said demonstrates its commitment to excellent attainment and results.

School staff cited the results as particularly pleasing given the new examinations courses being taken by this year’s pupils.

Headteacher Benjamin Bond said. “This is an excellent set of results. We are proud of all our pupils who have worked so very hard for their success and these grades. As they enter further education, training and other courses we wish them the very best and know they will continue to do great things.

“I also pay tribute to our superb staff team who have supported, driven and ensured the pupils did as well as they possible could; alongside brilliant parent support. These results set The Clere up for an excellent year and are an inspiration for our other pupils to exceed.”
