IN June of this year Greenfield Gunmakers of Milford Street in Salisbury held a charity fundraising weekend in June in aid of Cancer Research UK and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The event was held at Windwhistle Farm, near Bishopstone by kind permission of Ali Thorne.

The first day saw 26 teams of four take part in the ‘Windwhistle MacNot’. A play on the traditional Scottish Macnab where each participant had to shoot 50 sporting clays, followed by air rifle shooting, archery and the grand finale of 100 clay team flush.

The day was rounded off with a charity auction with various lots donated from local shoots and businesses including several days of game shooting from Gurston Down and the Windwhistle Shoot.

Day two of the weekend saw over 270 competitors taking part in a 100 clay sporting shoot with several scores well into the high 90s and the day being won on a fantastic score of 95 out of 100!

Overall the whole weekend raised a total of £11,186.33 with £8,132.33 donated to Wiltshire Air Ambulance and £3,054.00 donated to Cancer Research UK.

The whole weekend was deemed a huge success.
