GREAT fun was had by all at St Mary’s Church in Hale.
The church ran a three-day summer club with activities including making a 3D installation made from rubbish to symbolise the pollution of the sea, going on a litter pick and a visit to the mini recycling centre at St Boniface Church in Woodgreen.
There were 26 children, aged 5-14, who enjoyed thinking about how we need to care for the planet.
Co-organiser Reverend Nicky Davies said: “It was great fun this year and also encouraging to see the children really engaging with the hot topic of the environment and our care, or lack of it, for the world.
“I had very positive feedback from the parents who loved that we tackled a topical subject as well as helping the children have a great time.
“One parent said of the five clubs her children had been to this summer, they voted ours as the best. I am thrilled about this and must say thank you to all the helpers too.”
The club featured a mix of craft, sport, singing, quizzes, challenges and more.
