SUPPORT from the business community has ensured Salisbury's Celebrate Voice has flourished over the last five years.

The music festival takes place next month from October 25 to November 3.

Founder and artistic director of Celebrate Voice Lynsey Docherty said: "The key to the success of our partnerships is the personal relationships we develop. The sponsors know that I personally keep track of every penny given to the festival, that it is spent wisely, and most importantly, on great art. I ensure that our sponsors are kept up to date on developments, feel part of the process and success of our growing festival, and know that they will be associated with a quality event with which they feel proud to associate their business. We also provide a wide-reaching marketing strategy and excellent client entertainment opportunities."

She says the event has existed on only 3.4 per cent of public funding over five years.

The festival aims to bring world class performers to the city for nightly performances of opera, jazz, folk, cabaret and a cappella as well as creating events where these performers take part in events for, and with, the community.

Lynsey said: "Every year our opera stars perform in a gala concert for older people in our community at the Guildhall, and this year our singers will be out on the streets for the Big Busk, and enabling young people to work with professionals for the Apollo5 a cappella concert. The mix of quality performances and community involvement and participation is a big draw to our sponsors."

Stephen Oxley, Partner at Wilsons, and a principal sponsor of Celebrate Voice 2018 added: "For many decades Wilsons Solicitors has been a strong supporter of the arts in Salisbury. We are delighted to partner with Celebrate Voice as a principal sponsor of this year's exciting programme and wish Lynsey and her team every success."

Local business supporters of this year’s festival are principal sponsors, Wilsons Solicitors LLP and The Mark Allen Group, Gore Browne Investment Management, NFU Mutual Salisbury, Smith and Williamson, Southern Independent Medical Practice, John Rose Photography plus the festival received an award from Salisbury City Council and support from Salisbury BID.

Elizabeth Pollard at Gore Browne Investment Management said: "We are delighted to partner with Celebrate Voice which brings a dynamic and diverse range of vocal talent to the Salisbury community."
