THE Cloisters in Salisbury Cathedral provided an inspirational setting for this year’s Paint Off.

The event, which is organised by Plain Arts Salisbury, took place on Saturday.

David Walker, of Plain Arts Salisbury, said: “The annual Paint Off event run by Plain Arts was once again a huge success. It helps so much to be able to run it in such a wonderful setting as the Cloisters in Salisbury Cathedral, its so easy to be be creative and inspired in such a beautiful place.

“We attracted a wide range of people from full time artists to people who just love to splosh paint onto a canvas.

“Of course the most lovely thing was to see the fun and enjoyment in the eyes of the many children who took part, I hope that in some small way we have encouraged them into a lifelong love of art.

“We received lots of positive comments from the many tourists who were visiting the Cathedral on the day, all of them fascinated and very impressed that such a fun event should be held in Salisbury.

“We are delighted to have Paint Off as one of the many events in our calendar and hope that it can help to raise the awareness of the wealth of artistic talent that is within our community”
