THE first revival of Alan Bennett’s The Habit of Art runs this week at Salisbury Playhouse.
It is directed by Philip Franks and stars Matthew Kelly as W H Auden/Fitz and David Yelland as Benjamin Britten/Henry.
The Habit of Art runs at Salisbury Playhouse until Saturday (September 22).
It explores friendship, rivalry and heartache, the joy, pain and emotional cost of creativity.
The Habit of Art is centred on a fictional meeting between poet W. H. Auden and composer Benjamin Britten. Bennett wrote it as a play-within-a-play.
The production is presented by The Original Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal.
