A SALISBURY hairdressing salon was crowned Salon of the Year (2) earlier this week.

Smith England was awarded the title at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards in London on Monday (September 18), recognised by judges for their customer care and complaints procedure, marketing skills, and levels of staff engagement and training.

Opening in Salisbury in 2013, the salon has been called the "perfect winner" by executive director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards, Jayne Lewis-Orr.

Jayne commented: “Huge congratulations to Smith England on being named Salon of the Year (2).

"Through these awards, we champion and celebrate the very best within British hairdressing – everyone from the front of house team to the business director."

Award- winning Phil Smith of Smith England said: “It has been a tough year but we have dug deep, kept believing and kept the passion alive.

"By working hard and holding onto the belief, we have succeeded and now we’re British Hairdressing Business Awards winners."

Smith England came out on top against competitive salons in their category, and can now be added to the list of former salon winners including Perfectly Posh Hair and Bloggs Salon.

Ellie Smith who has worked in the salon for a year said it was a "big shock on the night", adding: "When we were told we were finalists we thought it would just be a nice team night out but we were so excited to actually win.

"We were so nervous when we got there waiting for our name to possibly be called, but it is an amazing feeling."

Mr Smith added: "It is a fantastic feeling, absolutely brilliant, I’d like to thank our whole team - without these guys we’d have nothing.”
