SALISBURY Arts Centre has a full season of screenings coming up including Sheridan Smith in Funny Girl The Musical and offerings from the Met Opera.
Verdi’s Aida is being live streamed from 6.30pm on Thursday, October 11. Soprano Anna Netrebko, pictured, makes her Met role debut as Aida in this 30th-anniversary revival of Sonja Frisell’s production.
Other Met Live screenings include Sansom Et Dalila on October 20 and Puccini’s La Fancuilla Del West October 27, 5.55pm.
Funny Girl The Musical starring Sheridan Smith is on October 24.
Funny Girl is semi-biographical, based on the life and career of Broadway star, film actress and comedienne Fanny Brice (a role made famous by Barbara Streisand on Broadway and in the 1968 film adaptation), and her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nick Arnstein.
A screening of Suffragette, starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep, takes place on October 17.
