ARMED police were called after reports of a weapon being fired in Salisbury.
Police were alerted at about 7.40am today (Friday) by a member of the public reporting a man driving a red vehicle had fired a weapon at a bin in the area of St Gregorys Avenue in Salisbury.
A property in Amesbury was later cordoned off by officers.
A police spokesman said: "Due to the nature of the call and the suggestion that the suspect had a weapon, armed officers attended the scene and following enquiries, cordoned off a property in Amesbury."
Two people - 24-year-old female, and a 36-year-old man – were arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm in a public place. They have been taken to Melksham custody.
