IT was nice weather for ducks in Harnham last month, as the banks of the River Nadder were busy with people young and old taking part in a duck race, launching fundraising for major improvements to Harnham Parish Hall.
Organised by the fundraising committee and the Old Mill pub, the morning began with a short service in the parish hall and led to the duck race by the Old Mill. A brave team of volunteers, including some local Explorer Scouts retrieved the ducks from the river. The vision and plans for development of the hall were on display at both events for those interested to view.
The 60 year old parish hall in Lower Street, Harnham urgently needs modernising in order to meet today’s needs. Anyone with ideas or wishing to help with fundraising can email: harnhamparish@btinternet.com or telephone 07925 108856.
