RUNNERS took to the streets of Salisbury on Sunday for the third annual half marathon to raise money for the Stars Appeal MRI Scanner Campaign.

19 runners took part for the Stars Appeal and so far, they have raised more than £2,900 between them, with more sponsorship to come in yet.

Gemma Heath, events and community fundraiser for the Stars Appeal, said: “We were so pleased to have 19 Stars Appeal runners in the 2018 Salisbury Half Marathon.

“We really appreciate their support and the sponsorship that they have all raised which will help us towards our £1.5million target to buy a second MRI Scanner for our hospital.

“Our thanks also to the organisers for another hugely successful run in our city.”

A record number of runners turned out for the event which started at midday on New Canal before finishing in the Cathedral Close.
