AN EMERGENCY Services Day is being held in Salisbury tomorrow (Saturday).

South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust will be in the Guildhall Square alongside partners from Wiltshire Police and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Paramedic teams are giving people the chance to come and ask questions and get advice on all subjects including mental health, CPR skills sessions, health check-ups and general first aid.

Lead paramedic Ian Parsons said: “This should be a fantastic family orientated time with plenty of hands-on opportunities for those that want to see our emergency vehicles and equipment we use, all guided by our frontline ambulance staff.”

Vehicles on display will include frontline ambulances, rapid-response vehicles, the motorcycle response unit and hazardous area response team.

Some of the volunteer community first responders will also be on-hand to talk about their role within the ambulance trust.

The event runs from 9am-4pm.
