THE community came out to show their support for the emergency services in the city.

Paramedics and ambulance crews from South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) held a 999 Emergency Services Day in the Guildhall Square on Saturday (October 13).

The event also brought together representatives from Wiltshire Police and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The public were given a chance to chat with crews about their jobs as well as take a look at the emergency vehicles on show.

Lead paramedic Ian Parsons said: “All in all the day was a massive success and all three services were represented well and I am immensely proud of the support that I was given and grateful of the staff that gave up their free time to support a great initiative for what has been a tough time for the emergency services this year in Salisbury”
