CULTURES from across the globe were celebrated at the Salisbury Catholics International Mass.

The event, organised by catholic churches in the Salisbury parish, took place on Friday at St Joseph’s School and was attended by about 300 people, including MP John Glen.

Guests were invited to come along in national dress.

There were readings, prayers and hymns in a variety of different languages.

Afterwards there was an opportunity to taste different cuisines from around the world.

One of the event organisers, Caroline Williams said: “Our annual International Mass was, once again, a vibrant and joyful occasion. “Little wonder that the event holds such a special place in the calendar of the Salisbury Catholic Churches.

“This year’s event brought together the Catholic community from across the Salisbury deanery to celebrate our diversity of culture, ethnicity, nation and race in an act of praise, worship and thanksgiving to God. We joined together as brothers and sisters from across the globe to celebrate all that unites us and in the process had a fabulous evening of fellowship, fun and fantastic food.”
