What is Progress 8?

The scores represent the overall performance at the end of key stage 4 (years 10 and 11).

It does so by measuring how well pupils did compared to expected grades they are given at the beginning of KS4.

A positive score is achieved when pupils beat their expected grades (e.g a score of 1.0 shows pupils achieving a full grade higher than they were forecast), with negative scores indicating that pupils are not meeting their targets.

It takes into account eight different subjects including English, maths, science, ICT, history, geography and languages.
