CELEBRATE Voice launches its 10-day festival today.

The festival has seen record take-up on all events including cabaret, jazz, opera, folk, a cappella and singalong performances as well as the festival’s popular community programme.

Whilst cabaret (An Evening of Flanders & Swann) and two of the four Don Giovanni opera nights have sold out, there are limited tickets available for Liane Carroll and Ian Shaw at the Salisbury Arts Centre tonight.

Opera lovers need to act fast to secure tickets for the few remaining tickets to opera performances at the Medieval Hall.

Sing-a-Long Grease is attracting a large audience to Salisbury Arts Centre on Halloween night – with prizes for best dressed, and the chance to let rip on those classic tunes (Oct 31). The arts centre is also hosting folk trio, Lady Maisery (Nov 1).

St Thomas’s is the venue for an evening of a cappella singing with Apollo5 for their first appearance in Salisbury, at St Thomas’s Church (Oct 27).

The festival has released a few additional Sing and Sign Makaton tickets after popular demand.

There are places left on the children’s Ultimate Vocal Workout (Oct 29) at Salisbury Playhouse, led by Dominic Harlan and Robert Gildon. And the Sing It Out workshop for all ages, this year at the Medieval Hall, feature director and leader of the London Vocal Project, Pete Churchill (Nov 3).

And on Saturday (October 27) local musicians including folk duo Antoine and Owena, indie rock band Out of Order, Evolution choir and the festival’s Instachoir perform across the city centre as part of the Big Busk.

Festival director and founder Lynsey Docherty said: “The buzz in the team, and amongst the singers rehearsing in Salisbury for Don Giovanni is palpable. We are thrilled to be selling out weeks in advance of opening night, which goes to prove that Salisbury is as vibrant as ever, as Celebrate Voice is succeeding in attracting audiences from near and far.”

Tickets are available from celebratevoice.co.uk. Alternatively, go to Salisbury Playhouse or call 01722 320333.
