A-LEVEL students at The Burgate School were focusing on its “learning for life” ethos when they visited the south of France.
The aim of the trip was to give students the experience of using public transport, hostel living and managing a budget.
Highlights of the five day trip included visiting Nice, Cannes, Menton and Monaco, as well as crossing the border for an evening in Italy.
The students also trekked the Nietzsche Path descending from Eze to Villefranche and spent time in the MAMAC Modern Art Galleries.
They also had the opportunity to practice their French and Italian. In addition to this, many of the Media and Art students spent time filming and taking photos.
A school spokesman said: “The purpose of the trip was to provide students with an affordable opportunity to extend their cultural capital and have experiences that make them feel excited about the opportunities that lie ahead of them and their life beyond The Burgate. With many having funded the trip themselves, for some of those travelling it was their first trip abroad or first time on an aeroplane.”
