SALISBURY recruitment agency Personnel Placements raised a whopping £3,100 for the Stars Appeal after a hosting a charity dinner.

The event, which took place on October 19, was to support the company’s managing director, Lynne Rose’s fundraising efforts.

In April 2019, Lynn will be trekking the Great Wall of China for the Stars Appeal.

Fifty two people attended the dinner at Salisbury’s Charter 1227 restaurant and enjoyed a four course dinner especially created by award-winning chef and owner of Charter 1227 Danny Bozic.

Local singers Claire Read and Mike Strawson as well as photographer Spencer Mullholland also gave their services for free.

The evening was a great success, with an auction and raffle of a Salisbury hamper full of gifts donated by local businesses.

It brings Lynne’s fundraising total to more than £7,000.

Lynne said: “I can’t thank everyone enough for their support and am thrilled to have overtaken my fundraising target.”

The Stars Appeal is currently fundraising for a new MRI scanner. City residents and those from further afield have taken on sporting challenges, asked for donations in lieu of birthday gifts and held special events to raise the money since the appeal began last November.

The second scanner is expected to help about 10,000 people attending the hospital each year.
