FAST food diners at Salisbury's McDonald's will soon be able to receive burgers and chicken nuggets directly to their tables.

The outlet on Winchester Street in Salisbury has recently been taken over by a new owner who will be introducing some changes to the restaurant.

Franchisee Tony Bennett, who started his career with McDonald's more than 30 years ago, now owns 15 of the restaurants across Hampshire, Dorset and Jersey, and Salisbury will be his first in Wiltshire.

A spokesman for the restaurant said: "To improve the speed and ease of ordering, the restaurant will be fitted with a new self-order kiosk upstairs.

"This allows customers to browse the menu, look at nutritional information and personalise their meals, giving them more time to consider their food and drink choices.

"The restaurant will also see the introduction of table service, providing the crew with more opportunities to interact with customers, and build valuable soft skills from working front of house."

Mr Bennett said: “I’m thrilled to be taking ownership of the Winchester Street restaurant.

"I look forward to meeting our local customers and I am pleased to be expanding into Wiltshire for the first time.

"My restaurants all play an active part in their local communities and I’m keen to learn more about the community here in Salisbury.’’
