A BEAUTY salon in Salisbury is marking its tenth anniversary by supporting a campaign that helps the elderly stay warm this winter.

Adorn Beauty Salon, on North Street, is backing the Wiltshire Community Foundation's Surviving Winter campaign by designing a special Winter Warmer treatment, to be launched at its tenth anniversary on November 22.

Adorn owner Tammy Allen opened the salon in 2008 with one treatment room and two members of staff.

Husband Mal, who owns M Allen Building Contractors, took care of the conversion.

Ten years on, there are four treatment rooms and five staff with an extensive range of beauty treatments using high quality beauty products.

Mrs Allen, who now has three children, Livia, six, Talula, four and nine-month-old Mason, said: “We have had wonderful support from our loyal client base, who come back time and again and this celebration is to thank them, as well as giving us a chance to meet some new clients.

"There have been some tough times as well as really good ones but it has always been a pleasure to work with our clients and we have loved growing the business in Salisbury.”

At the tenth anniversary event regular and prospective clients will be offered fizz and canapes, the chance to buy some Christmas presents and will also receive a goodie bag to take away.

Mrs Allen will be unveiling the Winter Warmer treatment, a luxurious back cleanse and polish to regenerate dull skin as well as a mask which will enable the back to rebalance.

Also included is a ten minute massage to relieve tired muscles.

It will be carried out under candlelit conditions in one of their cosy treatment rooms using the very finest Decleor products which will be seasonally scented with cinnamon, ginger, frankincense and myrhh.

The treatment costs £40, £2 of which will be donated to the Surviving Winter campaign and if clients book on the night of the event, £4 will be donated from every treatment.

In addition there will be a prize raffle where all the proceeds will be donated to Surviving Winter.

Every year in Wiltshire 300 older people die of cold-related illnesses and since 2010 the Wiltshire Community Foundation has been running the campaign to help tackle the issue by giving £300 grants to those in fuel poverty.

Mrs Allen said: “We are delighted to be able to design this special treatment, which will help combat the effects of the winter months, and we are really pleased to be able to use such a special occasion for us to help this worthwhile cause. My own grandmother is 81 and she is a lovely lady. I’d hate to think of her being in a situation where she can’t afford to heat her home. We are really looking forward to celebrating our anniversary with everyone.”
