SALISBURY Plain will be playing host to Exercise AUTONOMOUS WARRIOR (LAND) - the British Army’s largest ever experiment involving robotics and autonomous systems (RAS).

This is a four week collaborate experiment between the Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, International Allies & 47 industry partners experimenting with cutting edge RAS systems in an operational scenario.

The team from Army Warfighting Experiment 18 is working with 1 Armoured Infantry Brigade to experiment with novel manned and unmanned teaming concepts (MUM-T). They will be integrating RAS into armoured, mechanised and light force unit.

Over 200 troops will be deployed working with observers from 17 nations including the US Army Experimental Force Platoon from 1-29 Infantry, during part of ongoing UK-US allied experimentation.

The equipment being experimented throughout Autonomous Warrior aims to enhance: Situational Awareness and Decision Support, Movement and Manoeuvre, Firepower, Force Protection and Sustainability.

Local troops involved will include the Royal Tank Regiment Battlegroup Headquarters (BGHQ), First Fusiliers and 32nd Regiment Royal Artillery
